THE LAND
Originally a sheep farm, M&D Farm’s land is composed of fields, prairies, European style gardens, woods and ponds reminiscent of the charming English countryside made familiar by the Austin novels. All meant to be explored and discovered by the discerning eye of our visitors and guests... THE GARDENS
Walk room after room, of meandering forlorn romance. Each one of M&D Farm’s garden areas is filled with a wild explosion of color at every glance. Inspired by the fantasy and beauty of old cottages discovered during our travels throughout the English countryside, combined with a bit of Mediterranean symmetry and formality. THE BARN
The barn, built in the late 1940's, is a large open space with tall front and back doors allowing light and air to seamlessly connect our European style outdoor areas and gardens, enhancing the romantic backyard English countryside atmosphere. M&D Farm’s barn clean lines with its well curated myriad of artwork and antiques, serves as a magical canvas, making your dream romantic cottagecore wedding a reality. Let your imagination take flight when planning your European style outdoor barn and backyard garden wedding. M&D Farm’s barn main building is connected to three additional wings: a fairy light airy overhang, a laid-back stylish bar reminiscent of 1920’s bohemian speakeasy and a spacious catering-prepping area.
THE DINNING COURTYARD & FIRE PIT
M&D Farm’s barn back door opens onto the Dining Courtyard, a graveled area surrounded by trees and reminiscent of Mediterranean villas. Whether dining al fresco or under a tent, this space recreates a European fête with long tables under glowing string lights, perfect for intimate dinners with family and friends. Connected to the courtyard is the fire pit lounge, where an oversized sugar kettle bowl, Adirondack chairs, and a spacious Faux Bois garden bench offer a cozy spot by the roaring fire. Later, as dancing begins in the barn, guests often gather here for relaxed conversation, drinks, s'mores, or cigars beneath the stars.
THE POND GARDENS
Nestled on the property’s lower level, M&D Farm’s pond gardens offer a serene open space surrounded by nature, lawns, and pastoral fields. Couples can exchange vows with the pond’s reflection as their backdrop. The area also features a relaxed outdoor bar, plenty of seating, and lawn games, perfect for guests to unwind during pre-ceremony and cocktail hour. As night falls, string lights illuminate the pond bar, creating a warm, magical ambiance that invites guests to gather and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
